This is a list of some of my favorite Web award sites. By no means is it intended to be a all-inclusive list. I don't have the time to visit award sites too often, but I think the list below presents some of the good ones. I was recently interviewed by Wired Magazine and the interviewer made one comment that stuck in my grey matter. He said: "Good God, some of these sites with hundreds of awards plastered all over them look terrible". So if anything drives home my point about-it's not the quantity, it's the quality-this comes very close. Awards can be great promotion and marketing, but they can also cause a site to lose credibility with its users, if too many awards are posted. If you have a top-notch site only go for the gusto and rotate awards on your front page. Maybe 2-3 at a time and then change them every month or two.

The Australian Internet Awards
Simply superb site that knows exactly how to present itself. If you happen to be an Aussie and own a high quality Web site, then this is one place to submit your application. They have also been heralded as "the oscars" of the Internet. Sounds like a "buzz" phrase to me.

Jayde Gold Diamond and Corporate Best Awards
Jayde On-line is one of the best directory services on the Web and provides a most credible award. This is one I highly recommend as I know that their interests are sincere and most professional.

The IPPA Award For Design Excellence
WOW!, WOW! and WOW! again. The Internet Professional Publishers Association (IPPA) is one of the most creative and interactive award sites I have seen. This would most surely be a welcome trophy to any Web site owner.

The GII Awards
GII - Global Information Infrastructure. When you're Ziff-Davis you simply have the upper hand on the rest of us. Wouldn't it be nice to be born rich. This site sets a standard that most of us could never come too close to, but nonetheless one of us might just win it one day. Have fun!

International Web Page Awards
Another fee based award. Don't know much about this one, but it looks like it started in 1999. Don't be late with your entry - you'll pay a $40 late fee!!

Webbie World
Lots of pizzaz and zing at Webbie World which lists sites in categories and allows you to vote for the ones you like. Also has plenty of cool content. It's an award that's been around since about 1996 and is well qualified at their trade.

Cool Site of the Day
Highly acclaimed "Cool Site Of The Day" award has been around for at least 5 years. Excellent site presentation with plenty of action for the winning sites. Highly recommended.

Web Marketing Association Web Awards
The WebAwards are produced by the Web Marketing Association, Inc. (WMA), an independent organization founded with the exclusive purpose of evaluating and recognizing the standard of excellence of the World Wide Web for corporate web sites.

Website Awards
